The Pros:Excellent quality padding, provides comfort on both headband and around earcups for prolonged periods of use. Lightweight improves comfort during extended periods. Very minimal distortion at higher volumes.
The Cons:Bass frequencies are somewhat soft, users who like bass-heavy music will need to adjust source. Does not include a 3.5mm adapter.
The Audio Technica ATH-M40fs are premium level studiophones intended for professional studio monitoring. Superior components provide high SPL capabilities and a flat extended frequency response. The closed back circumaural earpieces can be rotated 180 degrees to permit one-ear monitoring.

The mass is kept to a low 8.8 oz (250 g) without cable by using 40-millimeter drivers with neodymium magnets and copper-clad aluminum wire coils. The ATH-M40fs comes with an 11-foot cable with standard 1/4" connector which is attached to the phones with a left side exit. The cable, elements and earpads are all removable/replacable if required. These studiophones have a frequency range of 5-28,000 Hz.
