Bose Around-Ear Headphones

drl1989: Hey Yale, thanks for the heads up. I spent the last couple of days scouting around and listening to various pairs. Believe it or not I actually settled on the #Grado_SR80 myself, sounds great! I figure it's a good intro to the at-home, high quality headphone setup. I'll give them some time and upgrade later if necessary. The Grados fit nicely into my budget, sounded way better than Shure and Sennheiser in the same range, for music at least (mainly what I wanted). Nov 7, 10

Yale: Great to hear it, hope you enjoy them. Like all my headphones I've gone through points in time when I hated the SR80, but now I'm firmly settled on love. Listening through a dedicated amp / cleanly powered Squeezebox Classic or my iBasso D2 Viper it rivals my much more expensive system where it counts: the pure fun of listening to music - it really gets me going. You can often go to Head-Fi meets to try more expensive options if you ever wanted to - my suggestion would be to find a source / amp that works for them first. Might be way easier said than done though, it took me a while (and some luck). Either way, enjoy the journey if you decide one is in order :) Nov 7, 10
