Grado GS1000
$995.00
Released April, 2006
The Pros:Much more comfortable for those who have issues with supra-aural comfort on other Grado phones. High precision in sound imaging, noticeable difference over lower Grado models. Superior clarity to the RS-1.
The Cons:Moves away from the standard Grado sound signature. Really need a dedicated amp to achieve the peak level of quality. Fragile earcup-to-headband connection design, decreases portability.
The Grado GS1000 is a high-end headphone from Grado Labs. The first and only circum-aural headphone from Grado - a great plus for those who feel the comfort of the series is lacking - the GS-1000 also differs from the Reference and Prestige series with a vastly differrent sound signature and expanded sound stage - also thanks to the large salad bowl pads.
